DIY Planner: Printer?

I love the DIY Planner templates but my printer doesn't get all the shading right, so sometimes the templates are a bit hard to read (esp the hpda ones). It's a HP Laserjet 1100 (probably ancient by today's standards).

what printer are you using or at what resolution are you printing the templates for best results?

I also find the HP1100...

I also find the HP1100 I'm using at work to be pretty poor; my 1020 at home is better, but I haven't had many chances to test it so far.

Maybe searching the DIYplanner forum pages would help more than my thin answer...
