After all that, I found an easier way: "scselect" is a terminal command which lets you change locations. First, you'll need to go to System Preferences > Network, and create a new Location. Turn off everything for this location and give it a name (I called mine "Off"). Click here to create script (no typing!)
Note that if you use a location name with one or more spaces, you'll want to precede spaces with a blackslash. For example: » POSTED IN:
