Web based GTD - Not hosted

So far, each of the technical solutions for a "trusted system" that I have tried has come up short in one or more areas:

- GTD Tiddlywiki - I love the printing to HDPDA. It's easy to put stuff in. But it doesn't bring "Next Actions" to the top. And I have a web server which I can access from anywhere - I am constantly finding myself without my pendrive.
- KinklessGTD - this looks perfect - except I'm not a Mac guy. I've actually considered getting a powerbook just for KGTD, but then my frugal self slaps me. I'm web based. I use Linux when I can, XP when I have to. So I like everything web, shell and email based.
- emacs Org mode. Plus: accessible from anywhere when I ssh to my server. Very geeky. Minus: no HPDA output, no shaking of NAs to one place.
- web based tiddly wikis - installing Ruby on Rails actually defeated me. Still haven't found one that seems to work.

I've got my email inbox and email-based ticklers working great, but that doesn't help for projects and contexts. iCal for my calendaring integrated with remind keeps my "hard landscape" in focus. So I'm set there.

Look, I'm on the Internet almost all the time, and I own a personal web server accessible from anywhere. What I want for Projects and NAs is a KGTD clone for the web that prints to HPDA. Oh, and it should authenticate to an LDAP server.

That's not asking too much, is it? :-) I know, *whine, whine*

Anyone got a link for me?

FIRST, you should check out...

FIRST, you should check out GTD Tiddly Wiki Plus.

GTD Tiddly Wiki is a modified version of Tiddly Wiki. GTD Tiddly Wiki Plus *IS* Tiddly Wiki 2.0.4 with a GTD style. That means that ever advance in Tiddly Wiki will also extend to GTD Tiddly Wiki.

That means that you can use TAGS and the ForEachTiddlerPlugin module. That allows you to build a KinklessGTD with GTD Tiddly Wiki. Imagine...

actions tagged with !projectname, @contextname, and possibly next and/or done
projects tagged with "project"
contexts tagged with "context"

Then you could use ForEachTiddlerPlugin to give you a list of contexts and a list of projects. On each project page, you could list only the actions tagged with that project. (and similar for a context page, and you could sort them by project) You could even sort them so that anything with "next" shows up at the top of the list; however, it's just as easy to create a "NEXT ACTIONS" tiddler that lists only actions tagged with "next."

I am currently working on a distribution of GTD Tiddly Wiki Plus that makes kinkless setup a snap. (that is, you won't have to do any coding yourself; all these lists and templates will be setup for you)

SECOND, give TaskToy a shot. NOTE that he has recently released the source (it's a Zope project, so you'll have to install Zope on your web server) of TaskToy, so you can setup your own TaskToy and modify it if you want.

What's fun is that TaskToy has a mobile mode. It also has a text-list mode. It's pretty easy to incorporate it into other big and small applications with these.
