To Merlin: About the Grip Tape for mbpro

Hey Merlin,

Can you please let us know how the grip tape worked on your macbookpro? Mine is a disaster and I’ve been looking for ways to protect it from external forces. I’m curious to find out where you put it and if it makes it too bulky or not.

Good luck...

Merlin is taking time off for paternity leave due to the recent arrival of his first child. I don’t think you’ll be hearing directly from him for a while…

grip tape

Not sure how griptape would add bulk.

It’s so thin that I can’t imagine it bulking anything up.

I’ve frequently thought about doing it myself, and since I have one of those superfly acrylic shells for my MBP, maybe now would be a good time to visit my local skate shop and give it a whirl.

did it last night

bought myself a sheet of black magic and applied it to the shell on my MBP.

the shell:

no bulk was added. the shell has LRFs (little rubber feet) so it has plenty of clearance. i’ll try to take pictures tonight or tomorrow, but it works well.
