Adjusting or replacing the spam filter?

No idea how much spam gets caught here on a daily basis, but I’ve had two of my replies get eaten by moderation, never to resurface. Probably had too many links in them, but they were relevant links included in fairly long replies.
Is the solution posted here better than what’s currently in place?
Or, on a related note, does anyone go through the moderated replies list?

I've noticed that too...
Though I post here pretty frequently (and, for that reason, I feel I should be on a whitelist and bypass moderation), I’ve had several messages get trapped in moderation and never appear on the public forum.
I emailed Merlin directly about this, and he responded that he wasn’t sure what was up and that he would “see what he [could] figure out.” That was a couple of weeks ago, and I never heard anything more.
In addition, I offered to help moderate if he was short-staffed, but he didn’t say anything about that…
