Adjusting or replacing the spam filter?

No idea how much spam gets caught here on a daily basis, but I’ve had two of my replies get eaten by moderation, never to resurface. Probably had too many links in them, but they were relevant links included in fairly long replies.
Is the solution posted here better than what’s currently in place?
Or, on a related note, does anyone go through the moderated replies list?

I think I figured it out...
The problem seems to be that you get held for moderation if you “Preview” your post, change something, and then don’t “Preview” it again before posting it.
I guess the system wants to make sure that the final version that ends up on the Web gets reviewed by someone, so if you don’t want it passed to a moderator you have to preview the edited text yourself.
