CD/DVD/Credit Card shredder
Shing Cheung | Jan 14 2008
Does anyone have any recommendations for a CD/DVD/Credit Card shredder (for personal use)? I only have maybe a few backup DVDs that I no longer need per month so I’m not looking for an industrial-strength heavy duty shredder. Thanks! 3 Comments

I had the same question a couple of weeks ago. Went to look into shredders with a special cd-slot, but those all go for over €50. So I just got my scissors and cut the cd’s up into small pieces. Took me about 15 minutes and saved a whole lot of money. (I did, however, buy a cheap paper-only shredder for about €12.) »

I see…I’m wondering how small the pieces have to be for it to be “safe”? »

I guess it depends on your level of paranoia and the sensitivity of the data on your disks. Me, I’m not very paranoid, so cutting them in half made me feel secure enough. »
