omnifocus syncing across multiple computers

Hi all,

After about a week of fiddling I’ve uploaded instructions for syncing OmniFocus (and OmniPlan, DevonThink, or any other non-syncing app you wish to add to the stack) across multiple computers.

http://forums.omnigroup.com/showthread.php?t=6189&page=5

It takes about 10 minutes of terminal fun, but when you’re done you’ll have: - OmniFocus syncing to and from a central server ever 30 minutes - Growl notifications indicating sync success - manual command-line utilities for forcing sync

I’m sure there are errors and better ways to do it, but it’s a good start if any of you are looking for a syncing solution that doesn’t involve .mac.

Thumb drive works for me

I gave up with various OF syncing solutions. Went low tech and now I just use a thumb drive to store my OF DB. I have my OF installation on all my machines point to the thumb drive.

I just need to remember to plug it in :)

if you're willing to pay US$99 a year...

If you use .Mac, it can’t get any simpler: just put your omnifocus files in your idisk Documents and voila. I know it’s seemingly costly but being able to sync many applications in the same way simply made .Mac worth the money personally (e.g. omnifocus, personalbrain, biblio databases, etc, etc).
