Multiple sets of 43 folders?

New to using the system, but I've been interested in it for a few years.

My wife and I are about to kick off the new organization style, but we have a question: do we use multiple sets of 43 folders, or try to manage both our lives with one set?

I can only imagine that we should be using multiple sets, but she's an engineer and demands proof before moving on to next steps.

Here is our situation:

We both have day jobs, and we also run two different businesses on the side. Do we cram all of our lives into ONE set of 43 folders?

I think that we should each have our own set of "work" folders at our jobs, and then one MASTER set at home to run the rest of our lives, (family, businesses, etc) for a total of three sets.

Any advice?

Thanks,

Lenny B.

DA says...

David Allen says that he and his wife each have a separate system. I don't think that is the most effective, considering some items can be handled by either person.

I actually like your idea of having a common tickler for joint items.

I would be curious to hear of your progress or the pitfalls, I have been trying to convince my wife she would benefit from a tickler file.
