The site is a fetishization of all things analogue — Moleskine diaries, index cards and other office-supply classics — and an ode to a book called Getting Things Done by David Allen. Is there a journalist alive who can get anything right? Did they miss the acres of Mac stuff? »

Wow! International press! Good for you. I’m converting people at work to use index cards. People catch on pretty quickly when they realize how functional they are, especially if you get into the habit of carrying them with you. »

The article also go the Hipster PDA URL wrong, but that was just a typo. »

Fixedgear, I often share your frustration with journalists, but not in this case. The statement is true; it is a fetishization of all things analogue; he did not write that it was a fetishization of only things analogue that it’s all about things analogue…. »

Well, the article motivated me to head out pick up some index cards. I’ve been reading this site for a while, but had been steadfastly sticking to my moleskine and treo. I’ve got to say, in 24 hours I’ve become a total hipster pda addict. So, I say a big thanks to the Globe article, it pushed me over the edge. »

Merlin, congrats on the well-deserved press! I’m another convert, thanks to your site. I have a huge array of PDAs because I used to work on them. (Anyone remember General Magic?) I’ve got a dozen or so Magic Cap, Palm, and Newton gizmos in my basement. Even when I lived and breathed PDA development, though, I never used them consistently. Pen and paper is always the path of least resistance, and I always fall back to it. The great thing about 3x5 cards over notebooks is that you can quickly re-sort them to always keep what you need easily at hand. I’d sometimes lose to-dos in my notebook because my current writing was several pages ahead, but that problem goes away with cards. »

Great to see Merlin getting positive international press, even if they did miss all the Mac-centric stuff! As they say in the PR biz, as long as they spell your name correctly… :-) Congrats! »
