43f Interview: GTD's David Allen on the "Someday Maybe" list

Productive Talk #03: Someday Maybe

43 Folders and The David Allen Company present the third in a series of conversations that David and Merlin recently had about Getting Things Done.

In this episode, David and Merlin talk about how people use their someday/maybe list, as well as look at some ways you can make best use of your project list and support materials. David also makes a case for capturing 100% of whatever has your attention. (10:22)

“That’s why GTD is about very clean edges…” as David emphasizes. Good stuff, again.

It’s a pity for me because I have problems with understanding spoken english. Reading is much more easier. If you have future plans to publish txt version of your interviews or kind of summary it will be really usefull. Kind regards.

Great stuff as usual. ...

Great stuff as usual. Merlin, thanks for putting these together. This podcast alone drove me from lurker-dom to poster. The end part where you spoke about needing to use the whole process spoke volumes to me, as I am one of those list makers David spoke of who sticks them places.

I was a bit confused to his preaching of 95 percent being so different than 100 percent. Especially since he spoke of his mind maps which sometimes sit for a while unprocessed. I might have been hearing it wrong, but it made me almost stressed to think, “if The David can’t even get to a hundred, how can I ever hope to?” But I am also of the same opinion that little strokes felled great oaks, and every little bit counts.

Another great push toward Ninja status, Merlin!
