More cool searches for Sogudi & Quicksilver

As I’ve said before, I’m a big fan of Sogudi, a free Safari add-on that lets you conduct keyword-based web searches right from your location bar. I thought I’d share a few more of the favorites that I’ve picked up (along with the shortcut I assigned and a short description of the resource).

(Note that there’s a similar web search feature in Quicksilver that allows this trick to work across browsers; to make the URLs below into QS-only bookmarks, change the @@@ to *** and bookmark as normal.)

    Good bit torrent searcher (if you like that kind of thing).

For those stuck using Windows,...

For those stuck using Windows, I highly recommend Dave’s Quick Search deskbar, which sits down low on the taskbar, has hundreds of built in searches and has a IE based way to create your own. It can also launch programs on your desktop and has a handy calendar built in. It’s also free. Find it here: http://www.dqsd.net/ and the make new search tool here – http://www.dqsd.net/searchwizard.htm. It’s main drawback is that it has so many searches, you are best off going into the configure menu to turn irrelevant ones off.
