We've started a new feature over on MacBreak Weekly that I really hope becomes a regular thing: "_Mac Whines_!" Yeah, sure, I'm an unapologetic Apple fanboy (I, mean duh), but some stuff about my Mac experience makes me crazy. Have you got a beef with your Mac or OS X you want to shout from the shiny counter of the "Genius" Bar? Yeah, me too. I'll open with:

The inability to remove spotlight completely, this includes the icon on the menu bar. That's valuable real estate! The inability to easily disable the dashboard. I don't use it and I have no need to keep that extra layer of the operating system running. The same would go for the dock as well, if I want to disable it, I want it off and out. I know Monolingual was discussed during MacBreak, but I'd love the ability to not install them in the first place. I know Apple wants the installs to be easy and smooth, but I really would appreciate the option when I first install the OS to NOT install anything except English. » POSTED IN:
