We've started a new feature over on MacBreak Weekly that I really hope becomes a regular thing: "_Mac Whines_!" Yeah, sure, I'm an unapologetic Apple fanboy (I, mean duh), but some stuff about my Mac experience makes me crazy. Have you got a beef with your Mac or OS X you want to shout from the shiny counter of the "Genius" Bar? Yeah, me too. I'll open with:

@Chris: You can hold Option while starting iPhoto and it will let you choose an existing library or make a new one. My Whines 1.) iPhoto makes me cry myself to sleep at night. Mainly because, even if you have it create aliases to your original photos in your own foldering system, it still creates files of its own in some crazy crazy foldering system whenever you edit a photo. 2.) iCal is on the cusp of being a solid app, but I can't seem to get over its foibles. That one comment about the current day not being very well highlighted is spot on. 3.) Support extensions in Safari (a la Firefox). I can't live without the capabilities that Tab Mix Plus offers. 4.) Dragging things from folder to folder in the Finder is a total pain. I want a Merlin Show that explains why PathFinder is so much better. » POSTED IN:
