How to get 'momentum'

On some days, I don't have the momentum to study, on these days it's
very hard for me to put myself behind my books & start learning. & when
I am behind my books, I learn very inefficient & slow.
Does sb has any idea's / tips to become more productive when you really
don't feel like? Tomorrow I'm going to try to wakup early & run a bit
before study'ing to try if that works :)

Thanks,
Joris

re: Creating Momentum

I find that it is essential to relate all actions to their intended outcomes. You may not be motivated to read a particular book you have in front of you, but if you can remind yourself that reading the book is related to a successful outcome you really _do_ want (e.g. get an "A" in the class) then you will be more motivated to get that thing done.

One question David Allen asks in GTD is "What new things would having this task/project complete make possible?" Often when I answer this question and review the things I come up with I am more motivated and the momentum kicks in. It enables me to think past the task/project and that helps motivate me to get them done. Start asking yourself those questions, writing down the successful outcomes, and keeping them attached to your tasks and projects to review, and you may find yourself with a lot more energy and motivation to get them done.

Cranking

Merlin used to crank. He’s not cranking any more.

This is an essay about family, priorities, and Shakey’s Pizza, and it’s probably the best thing he’s written. »

Scared Shitless
