is there a program that replaces explorer.exe?

I noticed that i can close explorer.exe and my computer still runs, there just isnt a program to handle the icons or to organize the open programs. Is there some kind of program that replaces this and maybe has more features, like a mac style or something? Just wondering because i know there is style XP which just changes how the PC looks. Thanks. 1 Comment

Yes. I used “bblean” for years before moving to Vista. Do a google search for it. Takes some customization to get it to how you want it, but well worth the effort. There are also quite a few other shell replacements if you look for them. »
