3x5 printers + cost of cartridge?

I'd like to get one of those cheap photo printers for my D*I*Y hpda. But I'm worried that the cartridges would be pretty expensive and not worth it. Can anyone recommend a good printer for 3x5's whose cartridges aren't super expensive?

thanks!

Color is better

Sometimes, it's nice to have color output. For example, I'm using kGTD. You know that really cool software for the mac that let's you elegantly use OmniOutliner Pro for GTD. It's colorization is key: purple for Next Actions, red for overdue items, etc. So, color can be a really important dimension to your information management scheme.

I'm guessing that the most economical color printer for the job would be an inkjet printer. Any models you'd suggest for 3x5 cards?

I've tried to use my HP Photosmart 325 photo printer with 3x5 cards. But, I didn't have any luck. It does 4x6 cards, so I picked up a bunch. But, I really want 3x5, so that the cards fit in my moleskine pocket cahier. I aslo tried feeding my HP LaserJet 3500, which claims to handle 3x5. Nope. Is there a trick with these suckers?
