”What’s 43 Folders?”
43Folders.com is Merlin Mann’s website about finding the time and attention to do your best creative work.

Hi Folks

Hi, I came here via the hPDA page, It's a great concept and I'll be looking forward to printing out lots of DIY Planner 3x5s when I get home.

I work in the oil and gas industry offshore in the UK and an electronic organisation system is impractical due to the weather and the safety (batteries). So I rely on a notebook but then, when I come home, I rely on a load of different notebooks for short term notes and for longer term story ideas (I try to write screenplays too). My centre of organisation is my Macbook which is where all my reports, trade literature anda hundred other things (music/films/books/addresses) are all stored. It's also my key productivity centre.

I'm hoping to pick up some handy ways to sync my onshore and offshore world through hPDA use. I've got a personal size Filofax at the moment with punched 3x5 cards in but it's a bit on the bulky side so I've ordered a Levenger bomber int'l pocket briefcase/wallet thingy (can we tell that I have a stationery fetish?) I'll miss my Rhodia notebooks and I'll be looking for a similar quality of 3x5 cards if anyone has any tips on where to start looking (UK preferred but internet with low shipping would be good too)

So, that's a little about me, I'll have a wander through the forums now.

Nick

Cranking

Merlin used to crank. He’s not cranking any more.

This is an essay about family, priorities, and Shakey’s Pizza, and it’s probably the best thing he’s written. »
