getting started with remind

hi!

I've been curious about Remind for a long time after reading Mike Harris' introduction, but only just got around to trying to install/use it.

I've never done anything in Terminal (like several other people who left comments to the original post), but after a lot of fiddling around I managed to install the program and set up a .reminders file. Problem is, I can't seem to actually figure out how to call up any of the reminders. "rem" or "remind" (and variants of) are "command[s] not found."

I know so little that I'm not even sure what information I need to give to get help, but if anyone has a sense of where a newbie would likely go wrong, or could offer any pointers, I would really appreciate it! Thanks!

Jennifer

Additionally, (and for future reference to make this sort of thing easier) you can just run the source command to reload your profile in the current terminal.

'source .profile'
