productivityIntegrating Multiple Lists -- Ticket Tracking & GTDJohn Schofield | Mar 25 2008My full-time job is split between coding and management — this means I’ve got my GTD system going — inbox zero and all that, and I’m currently using Remember The Milk — after trying KinklessGTD, iGTD, OmniFocus, and TaskPaper. read more » POSTED IN:
Tools For Improving Focus [video]Parveen Kaler | Mar 17 2008I recently did a talk for a group of friends on productivity and focusing. I thought that others may also find this talk valuable. I took my notes and put together a Keynote presentation with voice-over. Enjoy. http://parveenkaler.com/2008/03/17/tools-for-improving-focus/ POSTED IN:
Stack model for Getting Things Done and ProductivityBenson | Feb 4 2008Even with the model of GTD (Getting Things Done) [see my previous posts], sometimes, we are a bit overwhelmed with a Next action such as clearing your desk because there seem to be some many objects on the desk, I suggest that you can break this task even further down by consider the atomic actions without even the effort to define them. Teacher's Productivity Hampered by technology. No love.Amber Arizpe | Jan 27 2008Greetings Programs, I am a User. (Sorry, I rediscovered Tron the other day… Anyways…) Background: I am a math teacher. High School Math Teacher. I am a engineer. I like elegance. I like usability. I like duct tape. I like being able to come up with my own solutions. I also like to not re-invent the wheel as I have other things to do. Lesson Plans, Grades, Re-takes, filing, parent meetings, staff meetings, continual professional development, making worksheets, tests, learning guides, and that secret side of a teacher called a dating life. I use macs. I use PCs. I use unix/linux. But my preferred choice is the mac. Why? Because I have one at work and one at home. I was raised on it and unix. I lived in a house that lived by the Customer Calendar (Advertising), so I know products from Adobe and Quark. I like pretty buttons. I am a computer engineer, so I know how the things work. I know I can program my own stuff, but again… I don’t like re-inventing the wheel. read more » POSTED IN:
Video production project managementJoey Groah | Jan 4 2008Hi all, I’m in video production, short and long form video. We’re thinking about adding new in-house shooter/editors and we want to be able to have a centralized location for keeping track of hours put into a project, quoted pricing and information, and room to update as we go. If we add new folks it’ll be due to a new contact that’ll keep everybody hopping at nice pace, and we want to be able to have one place to track all projects and pricing, as well as communicate new and updated info. read more » POSTED IN:
Anyone tried Things.app from Cultured Code?Joshua Kaufman | Dec 15 2007I’ve been using OmniFocus for a few weeks now and enjoying it, but ever since I noticed Things.app from Cultured Code I’ve been wanting to try it out. Has anyone tried it yet? Thoughts? How does it compare to OmniFocus? POSTED IN:
