Forum Format

Have you considered using something like vBulletin for the forum. While the new format is very visually attractive, it seems to require an infinite amount of clicking around to see what new threads are going and what has been added to old ones. I'm not a huge poster, but I have been an avid lurker. Give it some thought, please!

new laptop

Hi everybody, I'm a newbie to this forum tho I've been logging in and reading stuff for a while now. I have been trying to "declutter" my own home for a couple of years and have been following Merlin's thread on that theme.

I've just bought myself a new laptop and I love it (tho' I'm ashamed to say it's a PC not Mac in this august company!) Taking advice from various sources I elected to saty with Windows XP rather than the slightly queasy-making Vista and I'm very happy with the hardware and general set-up.

Projects, contexts and consolidated actions

OT: Easter Egg in the Macintosh IIci

Not exactly OSX, but I thought some people here might enjoy this:

I found this Macintosh IIci at work. I read the wikipedia page on it, and it mentioned something about an Easter Egg:

"If the system date is set to September 20th, 1989 (the machine's release date) and the Command - Option - C - I buttons held during boot time, an image of the development team will be displayed."

I looked for images of this picture on the web, but couldn't find it. So, here it is!

Can anyone tell me who's who?

Cranking

Merlin used to crank. He’s not cranking any more.

This is an essay about family, priorities, and Shakey’s Pizza, and it’s probably the best thing he’s written. »

Scared Shitless

Merlin’s scared. You’re scared. Everybody is scared.

This is the video of Merlin’s keynote at Webstock 2011. The one where he cried. You should watch it. »
