Adjusting or replacing the spam filter?

No idea how much spam gets caught here on a daily basis, but I've had two of my replies get eaten by moderation, never to resurface. Probably had too many links in them, but they were relevant links included in fairly long replies.

Is the solution posted here better than what's currently in place?

Or, on a related note, does anyone go through the moderated replies list?

Forum Format

Have you considered using something like vBulletin for the forum. While the new format is very visually attractive, it seems to require an infinite amount of clicking around to see what new threads are going and what has been added to old ones. I'm not a huge poster, but I have been an avid lurker. Give it some thought, please!

Projects, contexts and consolidated actions

Greetings and Felicitations:

How do you handle a collection of projects that share an action that can/should be consolidated into a single action?

For example, I've three different projects: Hang quilt on wall, Fix ceiling fan at Mom's, Replace refrigerator at Grandmothers. Each involves the action "phone handyman and arrange time to X", where X is different for each project.

Should a non-Power User buy Leopard or not?

I just jumped back on the Mac bandwagon this summer picking up a MacBook Pro... It's been a long time since I've owned a Mac, to be honest, they just cost too much to consider owning during my post undergrad years, and I managed to get by with crappy Dell laptops for the better part of 10+ years. My previous Macs were a Plus (with a whopping 20 meg external hd) and then a IIsi I overclocked with the crystal swap trick... My point here is OS X 10.4 is my first mac OS since 7.0... I'm only now sort of picking up the tricks for getting the most out of Tiger...

Cranking

Merlin used to crank. He’s not cranking any more.

This is an essay about family, priorities, and Shakey’s Pizza, and it’s probably the best thing he’s written. »

Scared Shitless

Merlin’s scared. You’re scared. Everybody is scared.

This is the video of Merlin’s keynote at Webstock 2011. The one where he cried. You should watch it. »
