How are you Mac folks doing reminders and structuring to-dos?

As of Leopard, I'm a transplant from Entourage to the Mail/Address Book/iCal/.mac combo. Over in Entourage for the past 7 years, I created a slick Zero Inbox system by using delayed reminders, using a cool combo of Applescripts that removed emails out of the Inbox until a time when I needed to deal with them. I haven't figured out a system yet in the Mail world.

I'd love to hear how you Mac GTD'ers are using timers/reminders to postpone to-dos until the time you need to deal with them. I'm intrigued by OmniFocus, but it doesn't seem to be set up to do timers; more, it looks like a way to order ones to-dos in the sequence they need to be done. It might work, to switch from a popup timer world, to just remembering to look at a list. But before I dive in to OmniFocus, I'd love to hear how others are dealing with their to-dos using the Mail/Address Book/iCal/.mac combo.

Thanks for any ideas.

Things - outlook - my treo!

the combination that works for me is to use Things to organize all of my thoughts. I was looking at iGTD, tried Omnifocus, and then settled on Things. I like the interface and simplicity of it. This was like a 2 week shopping/ research phase for me, as i wanted to get into somethign that i can really dig my feet into and get GTD cemented in my life. Even though Things still in alpha stage and there are a lot of features in development, it still suffices at the moment. .. plus looking at the list of future features it looks like it will do everything i need and more.

All to-do's while i'm at the computer i input into things. All notes that i need to take at the moment, i input the same way. Under each action item, you are able to attach a note to it. Which is not bad, since each note for reference should have an action attached to it anyways right? ie, notes on " techspecs of new router" really needs a parent action of "review notes of new router" that can then be attached to a project of some sort.

Calendaring then goes into my outlook (i run windows in vmware on my leopard) which then syncs w/ my treo. my treo, next to my wallet and keys are the 3 things that i carry with me EVERYWHERE. Being that i can type pretty fast, i send notes to myself via the treo while i'm on the road, then review them when back at my computer. I tried to think of the possible "leaks" of thought throughout the day, and have singled it out to possible just being at the gym or on the crapper as being the only time i dont' have a note taking tool with me. lol

Anyhoo.. 4 weeks getting back on GTD w/ the above system and my psychic RAM is healthy... thank goodness. :)
