Entourage

Script to download entire message from header in entourage

Does anyone know if it is possible to create a script that will automatically start downloading large messages when they arrive in the entourage inbox?

I receive emails that have huge attachments so I need to setup entourage to only received the headers of large messages otherwise I will have many emails queued up on the server behind the large email as it is downloading. Everything works fine but I basically need to download all the emails and attachments eventually anyway, so I have to always manually click on the option to get the rest of the message for all emails.  read more »

How are you Mac folks doing reminders and structuring to-dos?

As of Leopard, I’m a transplant from Entourage to the Mail/Address Book/iCal/.mac combo. Over in Entourage for the past 7 years, I created a slick Zero Inbox system by using delayed reminders, using a cool combo of Applescripts that removed emails out of the Inbox until a time when I needed to deal with them. I haven’t figured out a system yet in the Mail world.  read more »

Entourage search vs mac mail

I’m thinking of going back to mac mail. I love the calendar functionality and the nifty widget to make a task from an email, but the search function is so incredibly clunky. Am I missing something? Did mac mail highlight mails in a conversation too?

Trying to find the rest of a conversation and old emails in Entourage is hopeless. Often I want to check back in the sent, archive or project folders to see what I said about something, or what they said…  read more »

Printing Attachments

Hello all!

I’ve been searching high and low for a way to create a rule in Entourage that would print just an attachment in an email. for instance, Agendas sent by staff etc.

I can’t find one. The work around I’ve attempted is to have attachments sent directly to a folder on my hard drive. Now I’m searching for an Applescript that will print any “new” document that’s just been added to that folder.

I can’t find one. As you can see, it’s driving me a bit crazy. Any ideas would be apprecieated. Thanks in advance!

Quicksilver & Entourage

Hi,

I am an independent project manager and use my Macbook Pro for business so I use Entourage for the work email and Apple mail for my personal email.

Using Quicksilver I can find the contact but the compose email open automatically opens apple mail rather than Entourage. Does anyone know of any way that I can get it to create an Entourage email? Is it possible to choose the application for the email based on the contact?

Any help that anyone could give me would be much appreciated.

Quicksilver: AppleScript to quickly add Entourage Tasks

Entourage - Fast Task.scpt

A hacker who wishes to remain anonymous has answered my prayers by creating a modest one-line AppleScript that lets you pipe input from Quicksilver into a new Entourage Task with zero cruft—no Category, no Project, no date, and no reminder. Perfect for fast capture any place, and something I’ve craved for over a year.  read more »
