When it's hard to stay focused, try going 'topless' to meetings - San Jose Mercury News Our good pals over at Adaptive Path have been experimenting with banning laptops and other communication devices in meetings (something I've supported in the past). From today's Mercury News:

I think we've become so accustomed to multitasking that sitting through a meeting with all attention focused on a singular task has become difficult. I'm personally a huge advocate of knitting during meetings (one of few hand crafts that can be accomplished without looking at the actual object). It gives enough of a distraction that a person can really focus on the meeting, but not so much of a distraction that the knitter (I mean staff person) disengages from the conversation. While some managers have had issues with my knitting they've also come to realize that, unlike the ones with the blackberries in hand, I'm actually paying attention... » POSTED IN:
