Catalogue/database/organizational app?
Freeman O'Shea | Mar 30 2008
I am an environmental designer (fancy-speak for architecture and related fields) looking to create a database of media - best practices, inspirational photos, links PDFs, text files, video, snippets and so on. I am searching for an app to help me do this. Ideal Criteria: OS X Must include tagging I would like to add captions/notes to accompany media files Searchable Linkable (internally) Exportable Easy capture/input of media Any and all help is appreciated. Journler is one of the bestSubmitted by samrhall on March 31, 2008 - 12:51pm.
Based on your description of what you need, I would look at either Journler or DevonThink. DevonThink will most likely be able to handle all your needs and then some, but the learning curve is pretty steep. I use Journler. I’m a political consultant and freelance writer, so I put it through its paces with research material. It can handle most types of files, integrates with your Mac and has a great online forum with an active community. Best of all, it’s reasonably priced. SRH »
