Integrating Multiple Lists -- Ticket Tracking & GTD

My full-time job is split between coding and management — this means I’ve got my GTD system going — inbox zero and all that, and I’m currently using Remember The Milk — after trying KinklessGTD, iGTD, OmniFocus, and TaskPaper.  read more »

Tools For Improving Focus [video]

I recently did a talk for a group of friends on productivity and focusing. I thought that others may also find this talk valuable. I took my notes and put together a Keynote presentation with voice-over. Enjoy.

Teacher's Productivity Hampered by technology. No love.

Greetings Programs, I am a User. (Sorry, I rediscovered Tron the other day… Anyways…)

Background: I am a math teacher. High School Math Teacher. I am a engineer. I like elegance. I like usability. I like duct tape. I like being able to come up with my own solutions. I also like to not re-invent the wheel as I have other things to do. Lesson Plans, Grades, Re-takes, filing, parent meetings, staff meetings, continual professional development, making worksheets, tests, learning guides, and that secret side of a teacher called a dating life.

I use macs. I use PCs. I use unix/linux. But my preferred choice is the mac. Why? Because I have one at work and one at home. I was raised on it and unix. I lived in a house that lived by the Customer Calendar (Advertising), so I know products from Adobe and Quark. I like pretty buttons. I am a computer engineer, so I know how the things work. I know I can program my own stuff, but again… I don’t like re-inventing the wheel.  read more »

Video production project management

We’re thinking about adding new in-house shooter/editors and we want to be able to have a centralized location for keeping track of hours put into a project, quoted pricing and information, and room to update as we go. If we add new folks it’ll be due to a new contact that’ll keep everybody hopping at nice pace, and we want to be able to have one place to track all projects and pricing, as well as communicate new and updated info.  read more »

Anyone tried Things.app from Cultured Code?

I’ve been using OmniFocus for a few weeks now and enjoying it, but ever since I noticed Things.app from Cultured Code I’ve been wanting to try it out. Has anyone tried it yet? Thoughts? How does it compare to OmniFocus?

Get Started with ‘GTD’

David Allen’s popular productivity book and the system on which it’s based help turn ‘stuff’ into actions that support valuable outcomes.
