An Artist Trying To Get CreativeThings Done...Brandon Leedy | Sep 21 2007Hello everybody, I'm Leadster618, an Industrial Design student at the University of Cincinnati's DAAP program and I am really trying to use GTD, some zen beliefs, and anything productivity wise I can get my hands on! I am really good about doing "next actions", but in the art/design world, many times I have no idea what my "next action" will be...its all based on my creativity. Heck, sometimes I could get halfway through a project and need to restart because its just not a very good idea. How does one create actions for the abstract and uncreated? read more »POSTED IN:
index cards printed with finer graph lines?joecab | Apr 19 2008I'm looking for index cards with graph paper lines printed on them. The ones I've found in staples are quad (4 boxes per inch) which is too coarse, and the lines are too dark. Is there any place where I can buy these cards with smaller boxes and finer/lighter lines? I'd rather buy than print them myself.

Merlin speaks @ BayCHI, Tuesday in Palo AltoMerlin Mann | Mar 13 2006Tuesday, March 14, 2006: Monthly Program (BayCHI) Just a reminder that tomorrow night I'll be speaking at the monthly BayCHI meeting down in Palo Alto. OSAF's estimable Mimi Yin and I will be talking about Getting Things Done partly in theory but mostly in practice; Mimi will focus on how Chandler is being developed to support GTD practices, and I'll be addressing the ways behavioral change can help enhance any tools and methodologies we've chosen to improve productivity. As far as I can tell, it's free and open to the public, so if you're in the 'hood, stop by and watch me stammer along in front of a really, really smart audience. Talk about intimidating. Edit 2006-03-15 07:51:15: Had a great time last night. Very fun and lively crowd. Here's my slides, if you like that sort of thing. Apparently there will be a podcast of Mimi and my talks forthcoming, so keep an eye out. (Thanks, Steve!) read more »POSTED IN:
packing your (work) bag - which files go?John Fishback | Oct 31 2007For the first time in a while I'm feeling on top of the paper I have to manage - I've got as little of it as possible and what I do have is high impact. At my desk, I'm all over it.
But most days I need to leave my desk at some point, and I may be gone long enough that I can't necessarily plan all the tasks I'll work on while away.
