Matthieu Ricard symposium at UCSF tomorrow

UCSF - Calendar of Events [Symposium on Happiness with Matthieu Ricard]

I’m looking forward to attending this symposium with the Mrs. tomorrow night on the campus of UCSF. Open to the public and maybe worth checking out if you share my interest in mindfulness and exploring Dharma practice.

Join us for a revolutionary look at happiness from one of the world’s most compelling voices on the subject. As a trained scientist and Buddhist monk, Matthieu Ricard, PhD is uniquely positioned in the dialogue between East and West. Drawing from works of fiction and poetry, contemporary western philosophy, Buddhist thought, current psychological and scientific research and personal experience, Ricard weaves an inspirational and forward looking account of how we can begin to rethink our realities in a fast-moving modern world.

OmniFocus and email integration screencast

I created a screencast today about how I use OmniFocus and email. I thought it might be of interest to some of you.

Hipster PDA for sales

I remember coming across a year or two ago some Hipster PDA templates specifically for sales people. One template categorized the types of contacts that you did that day with a point system that you could add up. The points/categories had a nice color coding scheme in squares containing the point value. Other than that, I don't remember much about them other than their design was really nice and simple.

I can't seem to find the templates or bookmarks to them. Anyone know what I'm talking about? Know where I could find them?

Text to Speech to MP3 in OS X, Listen to my text books

I have recently fallen in love with the concept of audiobooks, i've "read" more books in the last 8 weeks than i have in the last 3 years.

I would like to merge this concept to the academic slice of my life. All of my text books came with digital equivalents, and I would like to turn these into mp3's that I can listen to on my iPod.

Does anyone have a good work flow or just a simple program that can accomplish this?

Thanks, Wanna Be GTD College Kid

Your 43 Folders wish list?

Thanks again to everyone for their patience with our little team getting the site up. Thanks for everything. BUT! Enough of this self-congratulation.

We got us a hot-rod new CMS and some hard, pipe-hittin’ new members to help make things fun and interesting. So you tell me:

What new features and functionality do you want to see on 43f? If you’re a Drupal fan already, what modules, Views, or general tweaks do you think we’re missing? What would make your visits more enjoyable, useful, and productive?

Cranking

Merlin used to crank. He’s not cranking any more.

This is an essay about family, priorities, and Shakey’s Pizza, and it’s probably the best thing he’s written. »

This is the video of Merlin’s keynote at Webstock 2011. The one where he cried. You should watch it. »
