ClearContext 4 Review - New Dashboard feature good for GTD

About a year ago I discovered ClearContext, a plugin for Microsoft Outlook that helps you manage your inbox. I tried it and wrote my comments here on this forum (http://www.43folders.com/forum/2006/10/20/gtd-and-clearcontext)

I never was able to really get working on GTD, but not because of the software, mainly because of me. However, ClearContext and some of the GTD concepts have helped me in keeping my Inbox almost empty most of the time. I will not repeat myself, but the "Defer" and "Unsuscbribe" features that I described in the other post have been a great help

"Task" instead of "Project"

Hi all,

A collegue and myself are currently giving a course in GTD. No, we're not black belt, but being green belt already puts us way in front of our collegues. Moreover, the best way to learn is by trying to teach :-)

One thing we're noticing is that there's a bit of a blockage against creating a "project". In the ICT world we're in, a project is something huge, over budget and out of time, and you'd need all kinds of project management methods to avoid it getting it completely out of hand. So, creating a "project" just to buy a new hard disk seems to be somewhat overboard.

Try FusionDesk (has a free version)

Hi guys,

Some time ago I posted in a topic about FusionDesk, a new task management desktop application that I created. It was suggested to me to post it in a separate topic so more people see it.

FusionDesk has both a paid and a free version, so I am sure everyone can benefit from it. It is elegant, easy and flexible. It was designed with GTD in mind, but is definitely not limited to it. You can download it from here.

Any feedback is welcome.

Programming; where to start.

Where do I start? I am interested in learning about programming. I have been told perl, python, and other languages are the "best" places to start. I wonder if learning basics of applescript wouldn't be better. Honestly I don't know if that's the same thing. I just curious to see what someone with little time to devote towards this itch should do. Any suggestions?

Web syncing

Hello, I'm relatively new to GTD. I got iGTD and am using it religiously (and have been for a few months) on my main computer (mac book pro). I just got an Asus eeePC to play around with, so no I want some way to sync my iGTD info with something on web that will allow me to look at it from home on my Asus. Better yet, if I could add things on that web app, and have it update the iGTD on my MBP when I get to the office, all the better. I guess .Mac does something like this, but I would rather not put out the money for that. Thoughts...? Thanks.

Cranking

Merlin used to crank. He’s not cranking any more.

This is an essay about family, priorities, and Shakey’s Pizza, and it’s probably the best thing he’s written. »
