Del.icio.us Tag Management?

Right now I have a heaps of tags in del.icio.us where this is only 1 item associated with the tag.

Do people actually try to minimise this? if so, do you have your own tagging standards? or do you just leave them alone and not worry about it?

Cheers

Unplug

Talk about unplugging. The latest Bruno Aveillan ad for Loius Vuitton is the sweetest little homage to letting go. God this guy can make 'just being' the sexiest damn thing in the world. This clip is like transcendental meditation on ecstasy. My life hack resolution this week is to slip a volume of Pablo Neruda into my brief case and to somehow find a half hour in my workday to step off the gerbil wheel and just be...

An issue i've been having

Heres my problem. Let's say i've made a list of things i need to talk to bob about. So i have a list of tasks in my @Bob context. I go to school, and, until recently, i wouldn't have even had that list when i bumped unexpectedly into him, but now i have decided to put those in my iPod Touch, which i always have, and is, unlike a notecard, reuseable.

Now heres the issue. How do i rememember how to whip out the touch, flick over to @bob and go "I need to ask you about a horse." or whatever the task is?

quite a conundrum for me. any ideas?

43F Poll: What's your biggest GTD strength and weakness?

Two polls over on the 43f Board:

My own answers?

  • Strength: Collecting.
Dude. I'm a viking at collecting. Remember I'm the guy who invented writing things down on paper. So. You know.
  • Weakness: Review.
It's sick that I know know know this is the most important stage of GTD, and I still eat the booger. Need to work on this, big time.

When it comes to GTD, what's your strength and weakness?

GTDer's Choice Awards: Ubiquitous Capturing Device

The ultimate ubiquitous capturing device has the following qualities:

(1) You can take it with you anywhere, (2) It's always with you, (3) You begin writing immediately (less than 5 seconds).

With all the options out there I'd like to know from others what their #1 choice is for ubiquitous capture. And I'd prefer it came from those who have been using that collecting device/method for over a year.

Using occupancy sensor + PC to alert whether boss is in his office?

I'm exploring a geeky office hack. Here's the deal. I'm assistant to my organization's vice president and president. We're in a pretty big building, and my office plus their two offices are hidden off in a far corner.

There are days when people will walk back here six or seven times hoping to catch one of them, to ask a quick question or get their feedback on something small. And every time the bosses aren't in their offices--they're off at a meeting or in someone else's office.

help me find an app

i'll just copy some of my notes here. i'm trying to find a specific application. i've tried the 37signals stuff, stikkit, google-stuff. So far nothing fits the bill very well.

it doesn't have to be all-in-one (like stikkit) but i wouldn't mind. either way as long as it all works as one.

stikkit is so close. but the lack of further development and the inability to display data to people who don't want to start their own stikkit account makes it difficult to keep using.

"Next" comments should link directly TO comments

I finish reading an article and start reading the comments. At the end of the page, I click Next. I find myself at the top of the next page, but again at the top of the article, which I must scroll through to get to the second page of comments.

When I reach the bottom I click Next and, once again, there's the entire article to scroll through.

The "Next" link should position me at the top of the next set of comments. (Whether or not the article is on the page doesn't matter to me much if my screen is positioned at the top of comments).

Cranking

Merlin used to crank. He’s not cranking any more.

This is an essay about family, priorities, and Shakey’s Pizza, and it’s probably the best thing he’s written. »

Scared Shitless

Merlin’s scared. You’re scared. Everybody is scared.

This is the video of Merlin’s keynote at Webstock 2011. The one where he cried. You should watch it. »
